This contest is open to anyone and everyone who wishes to enter.
After some thought, I've indeed decided to go with a contest while the comic is on hiatus.
Yes, I'm sure some of you may be like, "Well, Kevin, couldn't you just put out a comic or two instead of this contest thing?"
I suppose I could, but I'm going to be away from my computer for a week-and-a-half as of Wednesday, and won't be able to put out anything that great.
So a contest is what's going down, whether or not you like it.
Here are the details:
What do I do?
The premise of this contest is to amuse me with the greatest holiday fantasy parody possible in a fantasy setting. The most appealing creations will be those that are based around a Dungeons and Dragons theme(I mean, hey, these are the Reliquary forums and Reliquary is D&D-based...), though it's not a necessity by far. Just something holiday and fantasy based will be adequate. This can be presented in any way you wish; a story, a piece of art, a song, or even a simple character sheet with themed stuff, just to name a few examples. Be as creative as possible, but MAKE SURE IT'S YOUR OWN WORK! I don't condone plagiarism here. This isn't limited to character creation(though characters DO really appeal to me...), so feel free to make holiday monsters, magic items, armor, weapons, etcetera. A guy or girl in holiday-themed gear will still count as a character, unless you explicitly specify what item or what-not you want to be the entry.
How do I get it to you?
The easiest way to do this would be to submit a link to your work or such as a reply to this thread. If that won't work, send an e-mail to me at: mrbob0822@yahoo.com
What's the deadline?
I'll accept entries up to January 1st. I'm pretty loose with this deadline, so if I get an entry at 1:50am on January 1st, I'll probably still accept it. Just be aware that anything submitted after the first will be subject to acceptance at my discretion. That means it's ADVISED you get it in before then.
What do I get?
I'm only deciding on a single winner of this contest; no runners-up. The winner will receive his/her creation in Reliquary-style, drawn and colored digitally.
Other info:
I'll accept up to three entries per-individual. I thought about taking as many as anyone wanted, but I'm sure someone would press that to the extreme, so only three per-person, please.
Any questions? Let me know here.
With that said, best of luck and Happy Holidays!
